KT: Technical Analysis



The shots in this sequence are surprisingly quick, and it has a fast cutting rate. The lead singer is featured less than the narrative storyline but is frequently intercut with the narrative to break up footage. Slow motion is used throughout to create an interesting aesthetic to match the genre of the track. Close ups are used to emphasize the characters actions and create a feel that the audience is positioned with the characters.
There are shots of the lead singer intercut within this footage, there is a projection over their face to make the footage more visually interesting. Therefore this video is both narrative and performance based.
The majority of the shots show the location of the beach and countryside-esk area while the performance shows an internal locations, diving the two storylines.
The shots are on average a length of 3/5 seconds each, meaning there is a fast cutting rate with slow motion footage, creating an aesthically pleasing technique.
Rule of thirds is a common technique used in this video to create an effective shot; it is used in most of these shots which creates a fluent motion and editing throughout.  
All the camera work is slow motion and steadycam, with brief movement but it isn't too noticeable as the movement is in slow motion.
